How do I find course topics that match my needs?

Visit our course catalog. Use our search bar and filters to look for courses in specific areas. Once you find a course that fits your needs, choose from your two online learning options:

  • Self-paced courses: Ideal for individual learners seeking flexibility to learn at their own pace.

  • Facilitated courses: Guided by an instructor within a fixed time frame, these courses are available for cohorts of at least 15 learners. This is an effective way for schools and organizations to quickly scale their teams’ professional learning impact. Contact us for more information.

Micro-credential options are also available to demonstrate subject matter knowledge.

What are the different types of online course options?

  • PowerUps
PowerUps are designed to introduce key concepts as a foundation for future learning. Each PowerUp is typically 1-2 hours, and they are offered at little to no cost, such as a series developed with the XQ Institute on the Science of Learning.
    Visit our PowerUps page.

Ways to stretch your learning include:

  • Self-paced courses
These flexible, on-demand courses typically take about 15 hours to complete and are ideal for diving deeper into specific topics. Some are grouped into course bundles — collections of related courses designed to deliver deeper learning.

  • Facilitated courses
These instructor-guided courses range from 15 to 45 hours and span 4–5 weeks. Some are part of credit-bearing degree pathways and/or are designed to meet certification requirements. Groups of related courses form course specializations for advanced learning.

What are the advantages of taking a course specialization?

Unlike bundles, specializations are more intensive and time-bound — typically one course per 4-5 weeks — and are only available through instructor-led cohorts. Currently offered specializations include:

  • Computer Science Endorsement
  • Pedagogies of the Possible
  • Educational Technology and Design
  • Civics and Media Literacy

When you complete a specialization, you receive a certificate and may be eligible to apply for graduate credit toward the MA in Education program at ASU’s Mary Lou Fulton College for Teaching and Learning Innovation. Contact us to learn more about this process.

How can I prove my skills and accomplishments after completing a course?

We offer several ways to demonstrate what you’ve learned — we call these earnings.

Certificate of Completion
Every learner who finishes a course receives a downloadable certificate. It includes:

  • The course title
  • Number of learning hours
  • Verification from the Mary Lou Fulton College for Teaching and Learning Innovation

Certificates can often be used for educator recertification.

Micro-credential (optional, additional cost)
Micro-credentials are a powerful way to prove your competency to current or future employers. They involve an independent assessment and are available in the following ways:

  • Successful completion of a facilitated course
  • As an add-on to a self-paced course
  • As a stand-alone earning (without a course)

Micro-credentials are downloadable and clearly state the area of demonstrated expertise.

Note: Instructor-facilitated courses include the certificate and the option to earn a micro-credential as part of the course fee.

Continuing Education Unit options: CEUs available at an additional cost.
