The Walton Sustainability Teachers Academy Introductory Course

Overview

The Walton Sustainability Teachers' Academy introductory course offers an exciting opportunity for educators across all grade levels to explore the concept of sustainability in the classroom. Through a variety of engaging resources, participants will develop a personal definition of sustainability and deepen their understanding of its core principles. This research-based course not only introduces teachers to the fundamentals of sustainability but also encourages them to reflect on their values and the specific needs of their communities in relation to the topic.

By the end of the course, participants will have gained insights from educators who have successfully integrated sustainability into their schools, participated in activities that enhance their understanding, and reflected on their own sustainability journeys. With this knowledge in hand, teachers will be equipped to design practical, meaningful ways to incorporate sustainability into their classrooms, all while ensuring that these efforts align with their unique pedagogical styles and do not increase their workload.
