Integrating Social Emotional Learning Experiences in Refugee-Serving Schools
In this PowerUp learners will review the core principles of social and emotional learning (SEL) and consider why social and emotional skills promote resilience and overall wellness for educators in refugee*-serving classrooms and schools. Learners will explore SEL strategies they can use in the moment as well as longer-term practices that will help to sustain educators’ energy, positivity, and drive over time.
*The term refugee, for the purposes of this course, refers to anyone forcibly displaced from their home country who has migrated to and/or been resettled in a new country.
