Identifying Refugee Students’ Assets PowerUp
This PowerUp differentiates between general “get-to-know” strategies and those that focus on students’ assets. It then introduces educators to specific considerations when learning about students of refugee backgrounds: the students’ cultural and linguistic diversity, their prior experience with formal education and their potential experiences with trauma.
A PowerUp is a concise, just-in-time learning module designed to address a specific topic or practical skill, typically lasting between 1-2 hours, and is offered individually or in bundles to support professional educators with immediate, actionable content.
