Identifying Elements of Assets-Based Pedagogies in Curriculum PowerUp
In this PowerUp, learners will analyze different assets-based pedagogies to find common elements that support refugee students. Learners will differentiate between their curriculum-in-use (also called formal and operational curriculum) and the hidden curriculum of classroom routines, expectations and values so that they can identify where they are incorporating elements of assets-based pedagogies already in these curricula and where opportunities exist to leverage refugee students’ assets even further.
A PowerUp is a concise, just-in-time learning module designed to address a specific topic or practical skill, typically lasting between 1-2 hours, and is offered individually or in bundles to support professional educators with immediate, actionable content.
