Deepening Your Knowledge of Refugee Students’ Assets PowerUp
This PowerUp encourages educators to learn about refugee students and families below the surface, diving deeper into a students’ background, interests and strengths to learn about their identity beyond common questions about country of origin and home language. The module offers participants multiple opportunities to reflect on their practice: participants reflect on their depth of knowledge of refugee students, on their current go-to strategies for getting to know refugee students and on areas for growth in this competency.
A PowerUp is a concise, just-in-time learning module designed to address a specific topic or practical skill, typically lasting between 1-2 hours, and is offered individually or in bundles to support professional educators with immediate, actionable content.
